LEARNING SPACE
With rapid technology change and increased student numbers, the design of flexible constructions has become essential. The development of wireless and mobile connection has made it easier to rethink and support a wider variety of educational approaches. But the flexibility of spaces where both learning and teaching can take place presents a challenge. This project aims to explore the creative possibilities of how a movable structure interacts with an existing space - an area in which good quality interior design often functions. It is required to create a multi-functional furniture that will be portable and easily dismantled for the new Learning Space within the historic building of Duke Street where the Norwich University of the Arts Library is. The small Learning Space is going to be exhibited at the foyer, in front of the Lecture Theatre. This furniture design will serve the users needs and the focus will be on establishing a space to support problem based learning and group activities. The client is the Library and has offered you the opportunity to design this Learning space.
